Upgrade your Silk Quilts & Bedding in 2016

Came across a really good article this week was looking at designs and trends for the upcoming years. Cheryl Freedman of Houzz wrote an article about the 10 Reasons to Update Your Bedding. There are some great reasons and tips listed in the article. Here are some of those reasons.

As Cheryl our natural reaction when buying betting sheets and covers is to default to plain white. So the next time you look to invest in new bedding products why not add some of the following great ideas listed below.

Patterns

As Cheryl mentioned patterns like wallpaper are a great way to break up the monotony of all white bed linen. It’s an easy way to dip your toe into colour. It can be as simple as changing the pillowcases or doona cover over to pattern. This adds colour and also texture to your bedroom.

Experimenting with the addition of Colour

Simply changing over a doona to a much bolder colour is a low risk and low-cost way of transforming your bedroom. The great thing about changing doona cover is if you don’t like the colour it is easy to change back or to another colour inexpensively.

Trending Colours

One of the hot new colours for 2016 is pink. It’s not the hot pink you associate with five-year-old girls. It’s a softer rose shade which provide a fresh and airy look to your bedroom.

Classic White

When all else fails there is always the classic white. But the luxurious feel of a high thread count fabric is one of life’s simple pleasures. It’s crisp feel and high quality is what makes Egyptian cotton the number one choice.

Design Trends

a simple way of staying up with design trends is changing your comforter cover. It’s an inexpensive way to upgrade and add character to your bedroom. There are lots of great modern botanical fabrics around with small grey fern prints.

Splurge on Silk

Whilst not the cheapest option is by far the most luxurious. With its hypoallergenic qualities and long-lasting properties silk is a great option. Using a silk pillowcase can also help prevent wrinkles according to beauty experts and it just plain feels great.
